AS I understand it, what we now call Lee Health was created by the Florida Legislature (in 1968, I think). I am no lawyer, but it seems to me that it would take another act of the legislature to dissolve Lee Health.
Per the enabling act, this motion was to start the "shell company" and was necessary to move this to the Lee County Board of Commissioners for "negotiation" of their proposal. One of the reasons I am trying so hard to stay on top of this story is to show the public that a very small group of individuals are deciding the fate of 50 years of Special District treatment provide to the system and Lee county. Technically this is the public's entity and I remain unclear what is proper procedure for transferring public assets.
